Planned Giving

Plant your legacy with a gift or bequest to QBG.

The Queens Botanical Garden proudly reflects the cultures of its community through design, plantings, and programs to help preserve our tradition of being the place where people, plants, and cultures meet. The Garden offers philanthropic options that support our vision and mission while benefiting the donor. Many of our planned giving tools, such as gift annuities and trusts, provide the donor with income for life and pay a rate of return that may equal or exceed current investment returns. Moreover, some of these gift options eliminate or minimize capital gains taxes and reduce estate taxes. We also work with donors who make gifts through their estates while preserving assets for their current needs.

The Garden can assist with a wide variety of planned giving strategies and options including:

  • Gifts through your estate or living trust
  • Naming the Garden as a beneficiary of your retirement plan assets from an IRA, 401(k), and the like
  • Charitable annuities
  • Donations of real estate

We would be delighted to speak with you, your family, and/or your tax advisor to help you determine which of these gift arrangements may best suit your needs or explore other gift-giving opportunities that would be of greater interest to you. Please call Tim Heimerle, Director of Development, at 718.886.3800 ext. 330 for more information.
