Bench and Tree Adoptions

Queens Botanical Garden’s adoption programs allow both individuals and organizations the opportunity to support the Garden and honor loved ones and colleagues.  Bench Adoptions

QBG is about to begin the process of repaving the pathways throughout our 39-acre urban oasis and replacing old, worn out benches along the way.  You are invited to become a supporter of this exciting initiative by adopting a bench!

The adoption of a bench for $5,000 is a wonderful opportunity to honor a loved one or associate on celebratory occasions, memorialize a family member or friend, or just celebrate your love of the Garden.  Each adopted bench will be laser engraved with a short inscription of your choosing.

New benches are made from powder-coated cast iron and white oak and are available in either the 1939 or 1964 World's Fair styles, depending on placement.  Benches have an anticipated lifespan of 20 years.  QBG is thrilled to be working with Kenneth Lynch & Sons, fabricator of the original 1939 World's Fair Benches, to create replica benches using modern, sustainable materials.

Tree Adoptions

As trees often live beyond the lifespan of a single individual, they have long been used by cultures around the world to mark notable happenings, such as births, marriages, anniversaries, retirements, deaths, and significant life events. Through QBG's Tree Adoption program, you can choose from among a select number of mature or new trees available for adoption to best commemorate your event. Trees are available for adoption starting at $5,000 and include oak, maple, magnolia, holly, birch, pine and a limited number of cherry. For more information and to ensure that your choice is available, please call Stephanie Ehrlich, Director of Development at  718.886.3800, ext. 330 or Annette Fanara, Development & Membership Manager, at 718.886.3800, ext. 202.
