Adoptions
The Queens Botanical Garden’s adoption programs allow both individuals and organizations the opportunity to support the Garden and receive recognition for their commitment to our work.
Garden AdoptionsThe Garden’s permanent collections and seasonal displays are the foundation for our vision to be the Botanical Garden noted for presentation of plants as unique expressions of cultural traditions. We work hard to present our gardens as places for contemplation and relaxation as well as demonstrate different aspects of cultural and environmental stewardship. The beauty of QBG extends beyond plants and flowers to include native birds and insects, foods from cultures around the world, natural decomposition and composting techniques, and the Senior and Children’s Gardens.
We invite you to participate in the seasonal adoption of one of QBG’s flowerbeds or gardens. Such sponsorship will receive signage in the appropriate garden during the growing season (June through October). To make your selection, visit and explore the different areas on your own or with one of our knowledgeable staff members. Please call the Development Office at 718.886.3800 ext. 330 to set up an appointment.
Adopt-A-TreeAs trees often live beyond the lifespan of a single individual, they have long been used by cultures around the world to mark notable happenings, such as births, marriages, deaths, and significant public events. Through the Adopt-A-Tree program at the Queens Botanical Garden, you are able to choose from among a select number of mature or new trees available for adoption to best commemorate your event. Possible plantings include Flowering Quince, Spice Bush, Spice Viburnum, Lilac, and Winter Daphne. New trees are planted during the appropriate season; trees available for adoption frequently change. For more information and to ensure that your choice is available, please call Tim Heimerle, the Director of Development at 718.886.3800 ext. 330. |
