Harvest Fest & Pumpkin Patch Schedule

Event schedule:

  • 11am -- Lonesome Moonlight String Band acoustic session at the Garden Entrance Plaza

  • 11am -- Bird & Nature Walk

  • 11:30am-12 noon -- Poetry reading with the Fresh Meadows Poets

  • 12:30-1pm -- Tai Chi demonstration

  • 1-4pm -- Urban Advantage Family Science Sunday (special admission required)

  • 1:15-2:30pm Musical Entertainment: Lonesome Moonlight String Band

  • 1:30-2pm -- Gardening demonstration with QBG Gardener, Karl McKoy

  • 2-2:30pm -- Spinning wheel demonstrations

  • 2-3pm -- Garden Tour with QBG Executive Director, Susan Lacerte

  • 3-3:30pm - Glass painting demonstrations with Cristina Cipriani

  • 3:15-4:30pm Musical Entertainment: The Bakersfield Breakers

Fun throughout the afternoon:

  • Children's activities including QBG's popular Pumpkin Patch (1-4pm or while supplies last; $3 per pumpkin)
  • Face painting (12:30-4pm; $2)
  • Origami pumpkin demonstrations (12:30-4:30pm; while supplies last)
  • Compost Demonstration: learn how to harvest, sift, and apply indoor and outdoor compost with the NYC Compost Project in Queens (11am to 4pm)
  • Food vendors and beer tent
  • QBG Marketplace with seasonal treats for sale (while supplies last)
  • Craft vendors
  • Cider press demonstrations (while supplies last)
  • Tunes provided by DJ Ito throughout the day
