Children's Garden Sessions & Dates

SPRING

During the spring, our young gardeners spend Saturday mornings preparing the garden by turning the soil, planting seeds, weeding, watering and of course harvesting our early crops, such as lettuce, spinach and peas! They explore the greenhouse where they start seeds in early spring, then help transplant those seedlings outside into the ground in one of twelve raised vegetable beds. Ages 5 through 12.

2016 dates TBD. Saturday mornings; April thru June.

SUMMER
Now Offering 10% Off!*

The summers are filled with adventure. Children take care of their flowers and vegetable crops in the morning, learning skills such as watering, cultivating, composting, deadheading, staking, and of course, harvesting. They also plant new vegetables and learn how to create their own viable compost.  We spend the afternoons exploring the entire Botanical Garden by using bug boxes to collect invertebrates from our biotope, cooking in a solar oven, taking flower walks, digging for worms and other creatures, creating bird feeders to take home, and much more. Ages 5 through 12 (children must be 5 years old by 6/30/2015).
