Children's Garden

SPRING
In spring, children learn the fundamentals of gardening by planting vegetables and flowers; harvest lettuce, spinach, and radishes; visit the bee garden with QBG’s beekeeper Urte Schaedle; build a watering can from recycled materials; and make Mother’s Day cards with paper they’ve made themselves seeded with parsley and basil.
Saturdays, 9:30 am – 12 Noon
March 29 – June 14
Fee: $315

SUMMER
In summer, children make salads from the vegetables they planted in the spring; learn about climate and environment with simple and entertaining demonstrations such as baking cookies in a solar oven; raise and release butterflies; have fun doing scavenger hunts; build planters and terrariums; and press flowers. In summer sessions, children must bring a box lunch (refrigeration is available) and the Garden provides a healthy afternoon snack.
