Celebrate the vernal equinox and help QBG prepare for the opening season by joining us for a day of volunteering and unity here at QBG, followed by a festive march to the Flushing Meadows-Corona Park Unisphere. Individuals and groups are welcome to volunteer. Advanced registration required - email rforlenza@queensbotanical.org. (NOTE: The Parking Garden will be open for this event; $5 per vehicle.)

Spring is a critical time for lawn care. Join QBG’s Patty Kleinberg, lawn care expert extraordinaire, for this important introduction to natural lawn care. Learn how to maintain a healthy lawn without the use of artificial fertilizers and pesticides. The last hour of the workshop is a hands-on demonstration. Registration required. Come enjoy the beauty of the Garden at QBG’s first Spring Egg Hunt! Bring your own basket to collect toy eggs (filled with a fun little trinket) hidden in the crabapple orchard in the Arboretum. The fun continues with seed planting activities for children, old-fashioned fun games, and our friends from Silly Cheeks Face Painting. Of course, we'll have a special visit from Flora the Flower, QBG’s mascot so don’t forget to bring your camera! (NOTE: The Parking Garden will be open for this event; $5 per vehicle.)
