Birds, Bugs, and Blooms of Queens Botanical Garden

A series of 19 images taken by Queens resident and QBG staffer Shari Romar, these photos celebrate both the beauty and rich biodiversity at the Garden throughout all seasons.  This exhibit will run through  February 25, 2011 in the Visitor & Administration Building Gallery.

About the artist:

Shari is often seen at QBG with a camera in hand and workmate in tow at lunch or after-hours.  She credits her mother for inspiring a love of nature, and her uncle, a professional photographer, for starting her off on this enjoyable hobby with a Polaroid camera as a tenth birthday gift.   Shari is particularly intrigued by animals that have adapted to urban environments, an often missed characteristic of city life.

Images are also available for purchase with a portion of proceeds benefitting the Garden (contact Shari at sromar@queensbotanical.org for more information).
