Holiday Closure at QBG
The Queens Botanical Garden will be closed to the public during the holiday period of December 22, 2008 through January 5, 2009. This closure is a necessary response to budget cuts at the institution.

QBG Executives and the Board of Trustees have decided to use this traditionally slow period of visitation at the Garden to save the Garden much needed funds as we move into 2009.  For more information on this important update, click here.

What's old is new again!
QBG is replacing all of its garden benches and you can be a part of the excitement.  The Garden is replacing its 40+ year-old benches with modern replicas of the 1939 World's Fair Bench.  For more information, click here.

Where’s the most unique meeting space in NYC?

Greening the Holidays
Here are a few tips to help you "Be Green" during the holidays:
  • Buy biodegradable wrapping and ribbons, made from all-natural materials which can be composted
  • Instead of using traditional bulbs on your tree, try using dried plants and homemade ornaments
  • Serve organic wine and veggies at your next party
  • Switch to LED lights for your indoor and outdoor holiday lighting
    •
