Queens Botanical Garden Welcomes Three New Board Members

Flushing, NY- August 15, 2013—The Board of Trustees of Queens Botanical Garden is pleased to welcome three new members.  

Gary Park, an attorney with more than 20 years of trial and litigation experience, is a managing partner in the law offices of Charles C. Khym & Company, PC a prominent Queens firm.  In addition to his legal work, Mr. Park has been active with YKAN, the Young Korean Americans’ Network, a non-profit organization founded in New York that provides community and volunteer service, striving for the advancement of Korean Americans into the American mainstream.  Mr. Park has served with YKAN as board member, president, and chairman.  He is also a former board member of Friends of Channel 13 and was featured in WNET/Channel 13’s documentary “Korean American Spirits.”  Recently, he has served on the board of Women In Need Center, which provides emergency shelter and social services to Asian women and their children.

Pauline Huang is co-founder, President and Marketing Director at United Custom Service, Inc. in Floral Park, NY.  She earned her BS in International Trade from Providence University, Taiwan, and holds an MBA in Accounting from Pace University, New York City.  Ms. Huang is an active member of the Taiwanese Merchants Association of New York, on whose behalf she has coordinated and sponsored community events such as a fundraising dance party for Flushing Town Hall, a Taiwanese Cuisine exhibition at Queens Crossing, and financial services seminars for small business owners.  Ms. Huang is the former President of United Taiwanese Universities and Colleges Alumni Association and the Providence University Alumni Association of New York.  

CPA Michael Bronstein has been active in the New York metropolitan area for many decades, serving a diverse clientele.  He has been the Director of Internal Audit at Lowes Corporation, a holding company that is one of the largest diversified financial corporations in the country.  In 2003, the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants (NYSSCPA) honored Mr. Bronstein with its “Outstanding CPA in Industry” Award, which highlighted his distinguished service to the profession, assistance with community causes, projects in the public interest, and development in industry.  Mr. Bronstein has been an active member of the Society since 1976 and is currently a member of the Hospitality Industry and Stock Brokerage Committees.  He has also served on the Computer in Accounting and Auditing, Advertising and Furtherance Committees.   Mr. Bronstein’s teaching career includes accounting and audit courses at Adelphi University, SUNY Westbury and St. John’s University.

The Board of Trustees of Queens Botanical Garden meets five times yearly and members serve terms of three years.  They are responsible for overseeing all the operations, property and finances of the Garden, and they value the input from their diverse members.
