Flushing, NY—June 13, 2013—Here comes the sun!  Queens Botanical Garden invites all to attend our Summer Solstice Celebration, which will be held on Sunday, June 23, 2013 from 11am to 4pm.  This will be a day of workshops and activities, and will feature a bird and nature walk, a SmartPhone tour, food service and many activities for children, including a suncatcher craft, the TD Bank Children’s Activity table, seed plantings, Silly Cheeks face art and appearances by Flora.

Summer Solstice Celebration schedule of events:    
 11am-4pm: Refreshments - Delish by Amerivents                                             
11am-4pm: Old Fashioned Children’s Games
11am: Bird Walk and Nature Walk with QBG staffer Shari Romar
12pm-2pm: Crushed can art workshop
2pm: Smart Phone Garden tour with Brian Nemeth
12pm -3:30pm: Silly Cheeks Face Painting
12pm-4pm: TD Bank Children’s Activity Table

Admission to this event is included with Garden admission: $4 for adults, $3 for seniors and $2 for children 3-12 and students with ID.  Free for QBG members.
