Flushing NY- January 18, 2013- Celebrate the Year of the Snake with Queens Botanical Garden! On Saturday, February 16 from 1-3pm we are hosting a festive afternoon workshop following Flushing’s annual Lunar New Year Parade. Join Flora and the QBG contingent as we march in the parade in the morning and then return to the Garden in the afternoon.
We invite all ages to participate in this family-friendly event as we create and decorate traditional paper lanterns in various symbolic colors. Each lantern’s color symbolizes a different wish for a happy new year. Participants will choose the color that expresses their wish and decorate a lantern to bring home and celebrate.
The cost for the workshop is $2 and the Parking Garden will be open for this event; $5 per vehicle. No registration is required and it will be held rain or shine.
Inquiries may be directed to (718) 886-3800, ext. 205 or firstname.lastname@example.org
