Flushing, NY – August 9, 2012 – On Sunday August 26, 2012, visitors to Queens Botanical Garden will be treated to a free outdoor concert of popular songs from the 1940’s to the 1990’s performed by musical group Earth (Eart’ Acte).

The eclectic ensemble features George Masone (on vocals and guitar), Stephen C. Josephs (flute and keyboard), Rob Davies (electric bass), and Michael Vaccerella (drums). Earth’s presentation, “A Score of Pop Tunes,” will be a family-friendly trip down memory lane featuring favorites ranging from Johnny Cash's “Ring of Fire” to Van Morrison's “Moondance.” Listeners are encouraged to bring blankets to sit on the lawn or a lawn chair to sit on the walkway.

Sponsored by Astoria Federal Savings with additional support from Apple Bank, the August 26th concert is the latest in the Garden’s Music in the Garden summer performance series. The free outdoor performance will begin at 6pm on the Garden’s Oak Allee. Snacks will be available for purchase beginning at 5pm. Admission to Queens Botanical Garden is free from 3-6pm on Wednesdays and from 4-6pm on Sundays until October 31, 2012.
