Flushing NY, November 17, 2011 – Queens Botanical Garden and Asian-American Activity Center, Inc. will celebrate Lunar New Year by hosting The 7th Annual Pre-Lunar New Year Gala & Flower Market 2012 on Saturday January 21st and Sunday January 22, 2012.

The Flower Market will continue a long Chinese tradition, celebrating the last days before Lunar New Year 2012 (The Year of the Dragon) with a sumptuous display of flowers and Lunar New Year goods. The event will take place in a heated 5,000 square foot tent and will feature live music and dance performances, raffles, and free tastings from local vendors, in addition to a breath-taking selection of cut flowers and plants. The Flower Market will also be a convenient venue for last-minute shopping before Lunar New Year.

Queens Botanical Garden is co-sponsoring the Flower Market with the Asian American Activity Center, Inc., a non-profit organization promoting Asian-American culture in New York City.
