Artist Talk With Fine Art Photographer Barbara E. Leven at Queens Botanical Garden
Saturday November 12, 2011
Flushing, NY – October 25, 2011 – Award-winning photographer Barbara Leven will discuss her latest exhibit Enchanted Earth 2.0 at Queens Botanical Garden on Saturday November 12, 2011. Enchanted Earth 2.0, a series of macro photographs offering intimate close-ups of familiar natural subjects, will be on display in the Garden’s Visitor & Administration Building Gallery until January 31, 2012. The exhibit will include Leven’s “Astoriasunflower” and “Orchidballet,” both of which earned awards in the 2010 International Photography Awards competition.
Leven hopes the photographs will encourage guests of the exhibit and the November 12th Artist Talk to fully appreciate the beauty of the natural world, and to find truths hidden in plain sight. “Through the lens I seek to unlock some secret the subject holds,” says Leven of Enchanted Earth 2.0, “to discover something I have not seen before so that I might more fully understand…the cycles of life of which I too am a part.”
